Every Trinidadian loves a chow and some Trinis I know can make a chow out of anything. It is fairly reminscent of a salsa. My favourites types are mango and plum chows.
This is one dish that will make your mouth water!
Recipe:
INGREDIENTS:
1 half ripened mango
1/4 teaspoon of salt
1 dash of black pepper
2 leaves shadon beni or cilantro finely chopped
1 cloves of garlic finely chopped
1/4 teaspoon lemon juice
Hot pepper to taste
METHOD:
1. Wash and peel the mango
2. Slice into wedges.
3. Add salt, black pepper, shadon beni, lemon juice, garlic and hot pepper, toss and serve! Easy as pie.
English is the official language of Trinidad. A dialect form of it is spoken by Trinidadian natives.
